We Heart Hair Parties With Aunt Connie

We had a fun hair party today with Aunt Connie. First Emilee had some PM Shine put on, and then Calley. Next it was Em's turn for a hair cut.
Then Jen's cut, which turned out FABULOUS!! She snuck away before I got an "after" picture some how.
A perm for me, and then Nellie got highlights and a trim.
And here's Sweet Miss Addison BEFORE the torturous ear piercing episode
I had the pleasure (?) of holding Little Miss during the torture so that Emilee could hold it together. Let's just say she cried a little bit ")
After it was over she got to eat, so over all she did very well
You can't see her sparkly earrings in this picture, but here's the finished product for Mom (without being able to style her new "do") and baby - Paige had a little trim too. We LOVE our hair parties. A big THANKS to Aunt Connie our personal beautician - she had her hands full today.

I've Been Workin' on the Railroad . . . I Mean Cupboards

So since my husband was gone all day and night Wednesday and Thursday, and Chad left yesterday to play xbox with Scott and Jeremy (via the evacuation road), and after our walk Nellie went to Caren's to watch Batman, I decided to do something productive with my "time" - thanks to the flooding, and FINALLY made myself clean out a couple of cupboards. They still don't look "picture perfect", but believe me they're a LOT better than they were! They've been completely scrubbed down and reorganized. I got rid of all the mismatched containers, lids and etc. and bought some new ones that you can actually attach the lids to, so you never have to look for the right one - what a great idea!
I picked up some sterilite containers (15 of them) so I can now "stack" quite a few of the slippery, uneven, messy looking items. I still have to figure out a neat way to store the chips bags and a few other things but it's so nice to know it's all been gone through, and hopefully I won't have to die of embarrassment whenever the pantry door gets left open when we've got company . . . well, at least for a day or 2 :)
My original wire shelves ripped out of the wall so Lee built me these heavy duty ones years ago complete with washable shelving. We were always going to paint the supports . . . maybe the NEXT time I've got an unplanned "opportunity" I can get that done :)

Just a Few More . . .

This is the little house on the corner of 203 by the Grady's house
Carnation Farms Rd.

203 looking towards Duvall
Look at all the white plastic balls of hay out in the middle of 203. This is what Scott and Chad refer to as "Big Hips Farm".

WowZa!!

So Nellie and I took a little walk along side the Tolt River, down from our development - which is usually a small river.
at the base of the bridge, on the trail, going to Remlinger

coming to the bridge
going away from the bridge
Remlinger Farms by their little train tracks
There were LOTS of people out taking a stroll to sight see :)
a little sign damage
This was taken off to the right side of the trail. Notice that the water is up past the door on the shed

This is the road under the bridge that goes to Remlinger Farms
Some idiot trying to drive through the flood waters - which goes right into the HUGE river as you can see. He ended up coming back.
Notice the top of the red truck - that's how deep the water is on this road (to Remlinger). This green house is being washed right off of it's foundation. These houses have been there for years, but I don't think it's EVER been this bad - at least there anyway. My heart goes out to them. When you get a closer look you can see flood water just POURING out through their garage door and another vehicle in front of their house.

The sign says "walking path" :)

It Must Have Been a Little WINDY Last Night ")

When I looked out back this morning this is what I saw: the porch swing blown right off the deck,
this white chair with BBQ cover (the BBQ was too hot to replace it last night) blown to the other side of the patio area,
. . . oh, and Daisy who thought she needed, and tried, to come in ")

Weight Watchers Anyone???? ;- (

wagon.jpg Pictures, Images and Photos

UGH!! Let me just tell you that: with all the stress of the holidays, parties galore (complete with "treats" that I love), snow - snow - and MORE snow, which was fun but definitely put a cramp in my style for finishing up the "details" for Christmas - with kids out of school and a husband home sick, the last 3 days before the break, the break itself . . . and now . . . MAJOR FLOODING, I have not only fallen off the weight watchers wagon, I've been RUN OVER BY IT . . . a FEW times!!! I kid you not, I'm back to my exercise routine (took an UNplanned 1 1/2 weeks off during Christmas, which didn't help my cause), but haven't quite mastered the "stress eating" thing I guess. It's SUCH a battle for me these days.

My husband is SO concerned for his family during the flooding that he took off, without telling me, for North Bend to spend the night at the fire station, and of course is now stuck there, or at least can't get back HERE, but seemed to have grabbed his horsehead . . . hmmm . . . REAL NICE!! I hope we don't float away. . . . I think that calls for a cookie ")

Happy New Year Everybody!!

We had a little New Year's Eve party up at Emilee and Paul's house last night. I didn't get too many pictures, but here's a few. Lee was clearly the "life of the party" ;)
Scott playing guitar hero - Calley with Abby
Nellie waiting for her ride to the dance
Cal-cakes rockin' out!
