CELEBRATION(S)!!

  1. Today we are celebrating many things. First, we have been married for 32 years today - To celebrate our special day we had planned to go on a tour of the underground in Seattle, but SOMEONE didn't do their homework before we left (I thought Lee knew where we were going), so we ended up at Pike Place Market instead of Pioneer Square, where you go for the tour - so, having already paid $15.00 to park, we decided to walk around the market and catch the tour another time :).
We saw the infamous fish market where they throw the fish to each other. This little guy was on display - he's a Monk Fish. He was so big that his tail went through to the other side of the fish (behind the counter) and every once in a while the guys working there would give his tail a little tug and scare the customers.

This guy was singing his heart out. We also saw a guy playing some sort of a homemade instrument - Lee decided he should try that to make some extra cash.
When we got home from our anniversary date we saw this VERY welcome sight (another celebration); the truck picking up the bin and all the overflow "debris" from having our house resided. The bin had already been emptied once before, so it was full again plus extra stuff laying on our lawn. I can't tell you how tired I am of all the mess that goes along with a project like this. It's taken LOTS longer than originally thought. We've had banging on our house 6 days a week for the last (almost) month, tools all over the yard, supplies laying in our driveway, and a portapotty in our yard!! Now on to the garage doors, rain gutters, downspouts, and paint, and the outside of our house will look nice again :).

    Up goes the bin
    and in it goes
Our nice sider guys (these 2 did the entire job themselves) were loading up their ladders and such, so I tried to get a shot of them - they really were very nice - they worked hard, did great work, were respectful, and as neat as you can be when you're doing a job like this. Over the course of the project they've working in 106 degree weather, and pouring down rain.
Since we're gluten's for punishment, we decided to take advantage of having the debris bin here so . . . we've also been doing our 3rd and final bathroom so it would match the other two. So here's our new floor.
Here's Lee taking down the light fixture so I can paint tonight (happy anniversary huh?) ")
Our counter tops and sink will be installed Friday and hopefully our sink/faucet will be hooked up and the toilet put back in so we can use it again. You don't realize how often you use something like this until it's out of commission. We'll all be very happy to have our downstairs bathroom back again :). This will be yet another celebration in our house!!
